Book a Weekend with Ward and Zoom

Ward is available to teach training seminars and workshops at your dog club or training facility.  He has developed and shares new methods and techniques for achieving speed, accuracy and consistency.  The type of seminar or workshop is tailored to the wishes of the participants and host club or training centre.  Ward is often available for private lessons  the day following the seminar.  Topics covered may include the following.

  1. •Training - from the puppy through to the obedience champion

  2. •Training the puppy in heeling, recalls, scent work, signals and go-outs

  3. •Training the puppy in Utility exercises - early training for later competitions

  4. •How dogs learn - through associations, consequences, reinforcement, chaining, back chaining

  5. •Motivating the dog while training for speed, accuracy and consistency

  6. •Using play training to create a positive attitude in the dog - getting a dog that “wants to” rather than “has to”

  7. •Problem solving - anticipating, diagnosing and solving problems

  8. •Preparation for showing - keeping your cool in the ring - dealing with ring nerves
